Print screen no longer saves screenshots on new PC.

Print screen no longer saves screenshots on new PC.

I got a new PC today, but dropbox no longer saves screenshots when I press the print screen button. I don't see a setting to change it on the website, and there's no proper desktop app, when I click on it, it just opens my dropbox folder in Windows Explorer. I've been looking for a solution for a while and haven't been able to figure it out.

Oh, nevermind, I found the app in the bottom corner and was able to change the setting there.

I have every now and then the same problem (I think) and can not see any solution.

When I try to make a print screen and paste the picture to a document otr a mail all that is pasted is a url.

I never asked Dropbox to interfere with my doings so why does this happen.

I do have a  dropbox icon but that does not include any option on what to do with print screens.

I can´t see why Dropbox has anything at all to with print screens:

Please give me an explanation and help me get rid of this trouble

Hi @saxdaling, print screen is a screenshot, and the Dropbox desktop application has the option of syncing them to your Dropbox account. The URL is a shared link to the image itself on the site.

You can disable Dropbox saving the screenshots by following these steps.

Thanks a lot for trying to help me.

To be sure I made a new download and got the latest version of the Dropbox app.

But where is it????  All that happens when i click on the Dropbox icon is that I come to the Dropbox section of my explorer. It does not look like an app. There are no options that I can change. I really feel foolish. This is what I see;

You'll need to locate the Dropbox icon in the system tray near the clock. Clicking that once would open the Dropbox window from where you can access your preferences.
