This problem has been bothering me for a long time. I thought it was just a small problem that would soon be repaired. Unfortunately, the current version (Dropbox 43.4.50 Offline Installer.exe) still has this problem.
Thanks for pointing this out.
We've made some changes in the code and this will no longer happen. The change will be live shortly, I suspect it'll make v.49 but it may be v.50.
Glad we could get this fixed!
Ross.

# I've installed a new Win 7 system for testing:
Win 7 ISO: "en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332.iso"
Dropbox Installer: "Dropbox 43.4.50 Offline Installer.exe"
After installing the system with the default settings. We don't even have a driver to install to avoid interfering factors. Now open a Cmd.Exe console. The PATH environment variable is correct.
Then perform the current version of the Dropbox offline installer for installation. Everything goes in the usual way, nothing special. The final installer will kill the current Explorer.exe process and start a new one.
Then open a new Cmd.Exe console and check the PATH environment variable. The PATH environment variable is null at this time.
I appreciate your prompt reply here Cwood,
What I gather based on the screenshots you’ve sent me is that there are different cmd processes, namely one for the system before an installation & one for a sub-process after an installation.
I’d happily further investigate & address your inquiries through our Official Support Channel, hence if it’s not too much trouble for you, could you verify that you’re giving me your permission to get in touch with you on the email address connected to your Dropbox account, so as to further advise on further steps? Once you do, I’ll email you directly.
Thanks again & I’ll be awaiting your next reply!
