I need to transfer files from a shared folder whose owner is not me - I can only edit.
I upgraded my Dropbox account to get more space to do this, but when I moved the files over to my own account, it still shows 2 users that can access.
My concern is that the owner of the files could nefariously delete the files.
How do I make sure I have ownership of my files?
Hi @DoubleDomer
Instead of moving do a copy of the files 🙂

Thank you for the quick response. Can you tell me how to do that? I'm really not familiar and this is a lot of my Intellectual Property - multiple folders.
I'm really unfamiliar with this platform and need all the help I can get. 🙂
Hi @DoubleDomer, you can copy the files to another folder on your account by following these steps.
Depending on your communication with the owner, you could ask them to transfer ownership of the shared folder to you directly
