Sue I assume you have checked you've the most recent versions of Dropbox on your device (as you've not actually said what is installed) and that you've opened the app to see what happens? If so what DOES happen? Sadly, we are not mind readers here so we dont know what its doing and why it isnt uploading.

I checked my phone and I have Dropbox version 6.2.4. My apps update automatically, so i assume that is the most recent. I just got the upgrade to Marshmallow the other day and since then none of my photos have transferred to Dropbox. I did the settings that Marcus O suggested above, and it started uploading ALL of my photos again and was taking forever, so I stopped the upload. What should I do?
I also tried manually adding the photos since the Marshmallow update and it says that they're on Dropbox but when I go to my computer or my phone to try to find them in Dropbox they are not there.
Dropbox keeps re-adding some pictures from 3-8-16 over and over again and nothing else. I don't know what to do. Can anyone here help?
I just noticed two things since installing Marshmallow:
1. you need to disable and re-enable dropbox sync for fotos as without it you don't get asked the question to allow dropbox to access your photos - i.e. I THINK Marshmallow introduced new access rights which need to be approved for each app (but if the app is installed already then not sure how else this is supposed to work). But this is only my best guess here.
2. I have setup sync via data or wifi checked. BUT when I then opened up Dropbox->Photos it said on the first line of the page "waiting for wifi". So I enabled wifi access on my mobile (rarely do this as LTE on my phone is just as fast as wifi) and suddenly the sync started again. This seems like a Dropbox bug - but a new one cos this used to work...
Hope this helps someone.
Just another addition,
if you turn on Power Saving Mode on Marshmallow (on Samsung devices at least),
it will disable background syncing of Dropbox photos as well as other apps.
To get out of Power Saving Mode:
Sue,
I think your issue may have multiple parts to it.
Can you try to uninstall Dropbox on your phone,
and then reinstalling it afterwards?
Then can you on your desktop,
Then log into your phone's Dropbox App using the same account email address.
edit:
Also, make sure your Dropbox App is updated on the Play Store for android users.

THIS WORKED FOR ME!!! Was also having sync issues after Marshmellow on S6. 3 hours spent on troubleshooting yesterday...smh. Had to go into settings of Dropbox app on phone, find "Turn on Camera Upload". SO simple. As soon as I pressed it, all photos synced.
Thank you, andE R.!!
Marcus. Thank you! This was exactly it.

This solved my issue. After upgrading to marshmallow dropbox needs permission to access photos again. That was a really good guess Marcus!!!!!!!!
I have S5 galaxy Note 4, I am not on battery/power saving, I have set my setting to upload, yet it will no longer do auto upload anymore since a recent note 4 upgrade this past winter. it is frustrating to upload each photo I take each and every time. It also will not let me upload a batch (via select) of photos. ONLY one by one. How come if I have in settings auto upload enabled and no power saving for apps do I no longer get the auto uploading? Anyone else with a Note 4 have this happen? I worked perfectly before this winter. I am stumped...
