Hi
If i share a folder with multiple people, do people see who else i have shared it with? If so, how do i avoid that?
Thanks
If its a shared folder (i.e. one that they have read/write access to) then yes, they can see everybody else in that share. There is no way around that I'm afraid.
If its a read only shared link then no, that information isnt stored as you dont need an account to view it

Thanks so much for you fast response. Appreciated.
Sorry to push this again after so long but I'm confused. I shared a folder with my business partner - his name (avatar) shows as one of the members. I then invited a couple of clients by sending them the link, and they tell me they have access but their avatars don't show up and when I click on "see all members" it doesn't show them either. This seems a little odd, and apart from anything else I'd like to go into the list of members and make sure they have read-only access and not editing. What am I missing?
Thanks

Sending someone a shared link to a folder doesn't invite them as a member of the folder. The link just provides them with view/download access. If you want to see them appear in the member list of the folder, then you need to invite them to the share.
Ah, got it. I tried inviting them as a member but it wouldn't go through.
So if they use the link, is there any way for me to see that they are in fact accessing the folder?
Thanks
Hey @Peter R.42 - when you say it wouldn't go through, could you elaborate a tad? Are you getting any particular error for example?
As for your additional query, note that this is possible for files through the viewer info feature. For folders, you might want to take a look at the Send and Track feature instead.

To be honest, I don't recall exactly what went wrong - I remember putting in an email address but the page didn't show me a button to press to send, Probably just me being lame! But since there was a "copy link" button, I just used that instead without realizing the difference. And since in fact I don't want different users to be able to see who else is in the data room, it's actually better for me to use the link method.
One question though about links - if someone I send a link to passes that link on to someone else, can they access the folders too? Is there a way to make the link user-specific?
Finally, I see there's a way to check who is or has been viewing files from a link, but I'm on a free plan and it doesn't seem available for that.
Thanks
Hi @Peter R.42, anyone with the link can access the folder. It isn't possible to restrict a link to a specific user, aside from sharing the file directly to their Dropbox account.

So is there a good way to use regular Dropbox (even with a paid plan) for a data room for a business transaction? Or do I need to sign up for your DocSend VDR plan?
Does your VDR address these issues:
1. I don't want each party considering the transaction to see the names of the others
2. I want to keep track of who is accessing the VDR and delete their access if I need to.
In regular DropBox, is there a way perhaps to keep multiple folders in sync with each other (so each has the full set of files) and then share each folder with a specific party?
Thanks
Thanks
