When I add a new photo to my computer it doesn't get added to my account as online-only

When I add a new photo to my computer, I thought that it would automatically sync and add the photo to my dropbox.com/home as online only.  But, it doesn't work for me.  Isn't a new photo supposed to be automatically added to dropbox.com when the appropriate setting is on?  Any suggestions for help?

Hey @ba23t, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

To clarify, a new file will be accessible on dropbox.com, once you add it to your local Dropbox folder and it syncs.

It won't sync as "online-only" immediately; initially, it will take up space on your hard drive, and once it's finished syncing, you can manually switch it to online-only.

Is this not the behavior you're seeing?

Let me know!

To switch a file to "online-only", you can simply right-click on it in your Dropbox folder and choose "make online-only".

I hope this helps!
