HI there,
I selected selective sync when setting up my new Windows 8.1 computer. I now need to change this to sync all folders. I have not found how to do this anywhere on the Dropbox site.
Just in case this matters, I did chose to move my Dropbox to another location after it installed. I would have chosen the location I wanted when I installed but I never go the option to choose my install location which I find very annoying. I did follow the instructions for moving Dropbox to a new location.
Thank you,
Deb
You do it via the Dropbox client. Click on the icon, then the Cog and its in that pop up.

I've gone in there several times. I click the Account button and I only see the Selective Sync options. No way to do a select all folders. I added a folder on my old computer to see if it would sync in the new computer w/o checking the box and I find the box is already checked on the new computer. Will it continue syncing all folders dropped in from wherever without selecting the checkbox or modifying my Dropbox via an apparently non-existent option to sync all?
Thanks much,
Deb
Dropbox auto syncs everything unless it is told otherwise. So you need to actively remove a folder from that device, it isnt possible to do it via the web or anything and it isnt possible to do it unless its been added on another machine.

I have the same question as the OP. It doesn't seem that it was really answered. I have had to reinstall of my programs. Dropbox is defaulting to save everything on my C Drive. That is my SSD drive that I don't save data on. It didn't allow me to change the save file until I had to switch to selective and unselect everything for a sync. Now that I have it syncing with my old data on my D Drive, it is still forcing me to selective sync. I want it to sync all now and I don't know how to switch it back. I appreciate your help.

Resurrecting this thread - it has not been answered, and this indeed a problem. Once you have enabled selective sync on a client, there doesn't seem to be a way to set it back to full sync.
Help!
Bryan:
As a workaround, you can uninstall Dropbox and reinstall it again. When Dropbox is installed and you use the same destination folder, Dropbox just index folder content and compare it with the cloud content. Dropbox will update the local folders as required.
Selective sync will be disabled in the new install because Dropbox sync full content by default on new installations.

It has been answered.
As previously indicated, it's done via the Dropbox client preferences.
Dropbox client icon > gear icon > Preferences... > Account tab > Selective Sync: Change Settings...
Robert, it has absolutely NOT been answered. There is a big difference between going into Selective Sync and checking all the boxes, and properly re-configuring back to "Sync All". This does not seem possible (switching back to "Sync All") at least in the Windows client. If it is, please answer with very specific instructions as it is not intuitive at all.

Checking all the boxes does set it back to sync all your folders. If you're looking for a one-click option to check all the folders, there is none.
