Accidentally synced my dropbox with folders in my Mac, deleted the account, and lost everything

Accidentally synced my dropbox with folders in my Mac, deleted the account, and lost everything

Hello.

This is exactly what it sounds like. When I was setting up my account, I accidentally allowed dropbox to sync with the files of my Mac, not realizing what this meant. I then deleted that dropbox account completely, and now all the files from all three folders that I allowed to sync are gone.

Is there anyone to recover these folders or are they gone forever??

Thanks!

Hey @cashewmilk, I'm sorry to hear about the situation!

Could you just clarify for me, do you no longer see the Dropbox folder on your computer locally at all?

If you do, is the folder empty, or do you still see the other content from Dropbox in there, apart from the backed up folders?

Let me know and we can go from there!
