Automatically delete photos and videos after uploading to dropbox from phone

Automatically delete photos and videos after uploading to dropbox from phone

Not applicable

Why is it that dropbox refuses to implement a simple and basic feature as deleting photos and videos from the phone after confirmed upload? It should not be difficult to do that, and knucklehead replies like "dropbox doesn't do that" are wasted typing! Dropbox should do it since google photos does it with ease and paying subscribers such as myself should not have to beg for such an elementary feature to be added. It's the elephant in the room, so do something about it Dropbox!

Hi @anonymous, thanks for messaging the Community!

As you're aware, this isn't a feature offered by the Dropbox mobile app, as the app only focuses on the uploading, and not directly deleting files in the camera roll.

If you wish, you can suggest this change for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future!

Thanks but others have already done that and they were disregarded? Sounds like being a dead horse, but I've read plenty of posts like yours that dropbox doesn't do this, without any reasons as to why they haven't done it already? Kind of get the feeling my request here is already disregarded so posting to the dev team will likely be ignored. This feature really should not be that big of a deal to implement?

You could try voting for this idea, as it appears no one has already voted for it previously.

I already voted up the other person's suggestion for the same feature. You can see that people have been inquiring about this feature for years via this google search and yet Dropbox has never attempted to do anything about it, so again, I doubt that upvoting is worth my effort and it would fall on deaf ears. Deleting photos and videos after uploading is the ONLY feature that Dropbox lacks and it simply surprises me that they have absolutely refused to implement it from the beginning, always redirecting everyone to manual deletion or resorting to third party apps that are filled with ads or potential malware. Such a basic feature should simply be part of the overall solution and not requested or upvoted, especially if Dropbox was keeping an eye on Google Drive and other competitors' features. This is a busy world we're in and most of us don't have time for **bleep**-for-tat conversation in forums over minimum-required features when we all have work to do.
