Being able to edit a document in Google docs after opening in Word first...not letting me.

Being able to edit a document in Google docs after opening in Word first...not letting me.

I opened one of my documents in online Word by mistake as I like to edit the document in Google docs. Now, every time I try and open the document to edit it in Google Docs, I get a message stating that the document is already open in Word and can only edit the document using online Word. I have gone into document using online Word and have tried saving it and closing it, exiting out of the Word version...everything I can think of and it still states it is only editable in Word, as it is still open in Word. This has happened several times and the only way I have found to fix it is to delete the document from Dropbox and re-add it. This is a complete pain. How can I get Dropbox to allow me to now edit this document in Google Docs without having to delete the document and re-add it.

Hi @JBlackcats; welcome to our Community and sorry to hear about the issue you've been facing with editing your documents.

Just so I can have a better look into this, can you please let me know what is your account's connected apps tab and the default apps tab (if you have one) report?

If you could also send me a screenshot of the error (or the last screen) you get, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
