Camera Upload Albums

Camera Upload Albums

Before the "Camera Upload Albums" functionality arrived, I had created my own file structure to organize my photos, moving them out of uploads and letting me find them by date, keyword, etc.

Now that a you can create "albums" within Camera Uploads, it would be great if I could simply copy that folder structure into Camera Uploads to create those albums automatically and conform to what I'm assuming is the best way to organize photos (i.e. following Dropbox's lead).

I tested creating an album through the app and have noticed two things:

  1. The created album is not visible anywhere besides the mobile app (not on the Dropbox desktop website, nor in the Windows file structure)
  2. Even though I have moved photos out of Camera Uploads and into the folder structure I described, I still see the moved photos in camera uploads on the mobile app (maybe a sync lag?)

Is this the expected behavior in both of these cases?  If so, has anyone seen any suggestions made to Dropbox related to this?

Hey @sm127021 - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community.

When it comes to your first observation, yes, this is expected behavior. Even though all pictures in an album will be uploaded, albums themselves are not preserved in Dropbox.

In regards to the second one, I'd appreciate a screenshot of the exact spot you're seeing the file you moved out of your Camera Uploads folder.

Keep me posted.
