Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I have been using Dropbox basic for about 10 years. The PC I was using was linked to my Dropbox files, no problems. That PC had issues, and is no longer available. When I went to link this computer to Dropbox, I got the directions to download the app. I believe I have downloaded it, but it appears that my historic folders and files are no longer available to me. They seemed to appear for a short time, and then went missing. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hi @JimAS, thanks for posting here!
When you visit your account online, do you see the updated files there?
Also, have you checked your events page, and file version history, to see what they report?
Keep me posted!

Megan,
Thank you for responding to my query. I seem not to be able to look at my Dropbox files online like I used to do, and the Dropbox app I downloaded is giving me problems loading. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am using Firefox as my search engine. I will keep trying to figure it out.
Yours truly,
Jim
Megan,
Logged in online, and do not see an events page nor file version history. Below is a copy of the page I land on.

Hi @JimAS, there is no longer a visible events page link, but it is still accessible if you visit the URL directly.
Version history can only be found when you select a file from the Files page and then click on the ellipsis > Activity > Version History.

Until I downloaded the new dropbox app late this past December, I just had files stored on dropbox. Where did they go, and can I get them back? I saw some of them briefly while trying out the new app, but then they disappeared. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hi @JimAS, is it possible that you have a second account, where all of your files are stored?
What about the events page, did you have the chance to take a look there?

Megan,
You are right, it appears I inadvertently and unintentionally created another account. None of the new dropbox features were familiar to me, and really threw me for a loop. I appreciate the help, and look forward to using the new dropbox features that will be available to me. Thank you for the assistance. JimAS
