Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
This happens only for my Download folder (attached to Dropbox) and my MacOs system warn me the file will be immediately removed and the action is unreversible. I tried it and it's true. I even don't find back the deleted file in my Dropbox deleted files.
Hi @Frank1963, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Do you have any other folders enabled for the Dropbox Backup feature?
Could you attach a screenshot showing this prompt, while hiding any file names and other personal info?
This will help me to assist further!

I backup only:
Desktop, Documents and Downloads.
I have only issues when I try to put in the basket a file from Downloads.
Does this occur for any file you're trying to delete from the Download folder?

Hi from me as well, @Frank1963.
When did you notice this issue? Did this start happening right after you enabled computer backup on your Dropbox account or is this behavior more recent?
Also, can you let me know the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?

This behaviour is recent. I think it's since my Dropbox folder has moved from ~/Dropbox toward ~/library/CloudStorage/Dropbox.
Thanks for clarifying that.
What’s the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app at the moment?

My syncing status of Dropbox tell me it's up to date. If you want an another info, please let me know where I can find the info. It's the same for the Dropbox version: where can I find the version ? I find the version, it's v175.4.5569
As you can see, Dropbox was free, simple and perfect at the beginning, but it becomes more and more complicated with more and more bugs and we pay for that !
Hey @Frank1963, thanks for the additional information.
May we reach out via email to have a further look internally at this point?
