Hi, I was syncing my Data from local hard disk to the Dropbox website using the Dropbox app.
I am syncing a folder of around 172 GB. At around 130 GB, the Dropbox app stopped responding so I force closed it and restarted my system.
Question 1:- After the computer restart, the Dropbox app continued to do the syncing. Is the sync intelligent enough to compare the Dropbox website and my local hard disk so that it will continue properly from where it left off or will it start the sync/upload again from the beginning?
Question 2:- The sync icons are not displayed in the Dropbox folder in the MAC Finder/File explorer. But the icons are displayed properly inside the Dropbox app. So, is this just a display issue or is this something bigger that I need to worry about?
(Currently the sync is still in progress so I do not plan to do anything like linking/unlinking folders from Dropbox app unless really required)
Hi there @firstpostcommenter, thanks for posting your questions on the Dropbox Community.
In general, the desktop app tries to keep all content changes up to date throughout the website and any connected device that has the desktop app or mobile app installed and has an active internet connection.
If you’re offline, files in your Dropbox folders that haven't synced should sync as soon as the device is online again.
Finally, if you can't see the syncing icons on the files in your Dropbox folder via Finder, could you just make sure that the desktop app is running? You can do this by finding the Dropbox icon that should be next to your computer's clock, and hovering over to see what its status is.
Let me know what you find, thanks!

Hi, Like I said in the question, the Desktop app is running and inside the Dropbox desktop app I can see the icons. But in Finder I now see the icons but the right click menu does not have the dropbox related menu items like smart sync etc. The dropbox app has the right click menu with smart sync option
Thanks for getting back to me, @firstpostcommenter.
Could you check for me if you have the Finder integration disabled?
If you do, could you enable it and check again?
Let me know how it goes, cheers!
