Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
Greetings,
I've seen lots of posts similar to this, but each of them seemed to find something after a second look, and I can't find anything left to remove/delete.
Screen caps are below - my account is showing as full with "regular files" but I can't see any files anywhere. I actually completely uninstalled dropbox from both of my laptops (macOS) just in case it was re-uploading something.
The background here - I set up Garmin to use dropbox (I believe the app was either Express or Explore, I was never able to find the setting again), the files I could see from my desktop app when it was still connected (under the sync list) were definitely garmin files, but I can't see these anywhere in my dropbox online (nor did they show up in the finder folder there). AFAIK there is nothing else I can access here to remove, it's like the files are hidden but stuck on my drive.
I have a free account so can't contact support. I'd even be fine with deleting this account and re-signing up, as long as that email address wouldn't be blocked. Any tips or advice welcome! Thanks in advance.
Hi @prosim, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you check if you have any computer or external drive backups running on your account on this page?
This will help me to assist further!

Thanks so much for your help!
It did show the GARMIN folder there. I would have never found that on my own. I downloaded that and deleted it, but it's still hanging around in the deleted state, I can't see a way to "permanently delete". And so far the message is still showing that I'm over the limit. Will it just take a while to catch up?
When files are deleted, they should immediately free up space on your account. Are you certain there's no other files or folder, or backups anywhere else on your account?

I did figure out how to permanently delete here. I clicked on the "Deleted" and the "Permanently delete backup" came up.
So the backups page now shows like this:
All the other pages in the main section are still as shown above. No files I can find there. Is there anywhere else to look?
Thanks for the info, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?
