Hi,
I was working on a word document this morning but suddenly I received a notification in the bottom right hand corner that I had deleted a dropbox folder. I wasn't even in dropbox. I share this folder with 17 others and everyone has lost everything.
I have been on my file explorer and online and it isn't there. It also isn't under my deleted items. If I search for the folder online then I can see it - it tells me I deleted the folder this morning at 11.25. I didn't! No one else has either. It gives me an option when I have searched to restore it, but when I click on restore I get a 'oops something went wrong' error! Very frustrating.
Anyway I can retrieve the folder? I have tried rebooting my computer, using a previous link, asking others to use the previous link and been in contact with my IT department. And Dropbox. All with no success.

Sorry, you are having issues. Something or someone told Dropbox Client to delete it. Do you have anything that was running at 11:25?
You can try to use Dropbox Rewind. More info: https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/restore-delete/rewind
You also might need to fill out a Support Ticket: https://www.dropbox.com/support

Thanks. I was working on a word document at the time. Don't think anything else was open. I don't have a business DB account, so don't have rewind. Can I still use it if I download it after the event?
I did contact DB through the chat function, but I will fill in a ticket.

p.s: all the other DB folders are still there. It's just this one.

Sorry, your email went into my junk. How do I request a ticket? I clicked on the link you sent me above but just takes me to the support page.

You need to click on Email on that Support page. It's going to ask a bunch of questions. This is needed because it has to know who to send it to. Various Support Staff may be more knowledgeable about the subject you need help with. In order to assist them to assist you, it's imperative that you answer their questions. Be patient and eventually you will be given support. It will ask you to create a login for the support page.

Thank you. Email isn't an option - I only have a basic account and not business so assuming this is the reason.
It's not a typical email structure, I don't know why they call it email. It should say Create Ticket. what happens when you click on https://www.dropbox.com/support/email ?
it should be where it will ask you some questions.

UPDATE: well, oh my, email is not available to basic.. Im so sorry. I guess they changed that. Some things and many things Dropbox has changed make me mad. I don;'t know what to say.. I'll go now (with tail between my legs) geeezze
