Files deleted

I recently made an account to try to share files between my PC and my phone. I only wanted to share a single file so when I was finished I decided that I wanted to delete my account because I probably wouldn't use it again so I did. I deleted my account and received an email saying that my account was deleted and my files weren't removed from my computer but all of the files got uploaded to dropbox were removed from my computer. Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Hey @kenn1, welcome to the Dropbox Community.

Generally, when a Dropbox account gets deleted, any files added to it, get deleted as well and there's no way to recover them.

Did you install the Dropbox application on your PC and did you turn on our backup feature?

Is it these desktop files that you're missing or just simple files that you had manually added to your Dropbox?

Keep me posted.
