iPhone XR, iPad 7, Windows PC... situation the same for all three devices
I accidentally started to copy a folder from my computer into Dropbox, but before it finished, I hit the X and cancelled it. It finished cancelling ok and the folder does not show in my Dropbox. Not in deleted files, not in any folder, no where.
But...
Other group members CAN see that folder! What's worse is that it's a shared folder by *another person* who is not a member of my dropbox group. So, I'm the one who started the accidental copying process, but the folder is someone else's and was shared with me.
One member in my group says he can't delete it because I'm the "owner." He moved the (unfinished) contents to Google Drive for the meantime but the folder itself is still in our group dropbox. It's on the first level when you open the main folder.
Again, I can't see this folder, but everybody else can, but they can't delete it. It's a HUGE folder that's taking up space, even though the contents have been moved. ????????????????? I don't get that part at all...
I'm so confused. I can't see it, so I can't delete it. It's not in my deleted files, history, or in any folder anywhere in Dropbox. No one else can delete it because apparently I'm the owner. Yet someone outside of our group is the actual owner of that folder.
How can I erase that folder if I can't see it? Again, it's not in my activity/history and is not in any folder on my devices.
I hope that makes sense. Thank you in advance.
Kristie
Hi @kristies2, thanks for joining the Community!
If you look for the folder on the Dropbox site, is it visible there? What happens if you attempt to delete it?
Are the files in a shared folder, or a team folder? What type of account are you on according to this page?
This will help me to assist further!
