Hello, This morning I clicked on a link to open a file in Dropbox that I was sure was okay, but I was wrong. The file came from a hacked account of a customer. I did immediately change my password but I don't know if that helped fend off hackers. Now that file exists in my Dropbox and I can't seem to delete it. It is actually shared with me. To the right of the file instead of the three dots usually there, there is only a rectangular button that says Open. When you hover over to the left of that button another button appears with a drop down menu that says Open or Connect with Apps. Is there a way to remove a shared file from my dropbox? I am afraid to do anything at this point. Can anyone tell me what I can do to delete this file?
Hi @SusanT, thanks for messaging the Community!
If this was a shared file, then you should be able to remove your access to the file from this page on your account.
If you’re not seeing it there, could you forward a screenshot of what you’re seeing to provide you with the correct steps to do so?
Keep me posted!
