Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I worked for a realtor who had hundreds of files in her Dropbox folder. I shared many of these files to my personal computer so I could often work from home. I no longer work for the realtor and want to delete ALL the folders she shared with me so my Dropbox is a manageable size again but I want to be sure I don't disrupt my previous boss' original folders that she still uses. I work on a Mac platform.
In that case, you'll need to remove your access from those shared folders @DED1.

I want to delete my Dropbox account loaded with hundreds of shared folders taking up lots of space and start fresh with a new basic Dropbox account. But what happens to the original folders on computers that shared with me? I don't want to disturb the original folders on my colleague's computer and certainly don't want to delete them.
Hi @DED1, thanks for messaging the Community!
In order to understand this in more details, could you clarify exactly what you mean by shared folders? Does the realtor have their own Dropbox account, and they shared their folders to your account?
Is it instead you own Dropbox account syncing their computer, and the files are simply syncing to your own machine?
Let me know so I can provide the correct info for you!
