How do I get my data back?

How do I get my data back?

Antoine 26

Hello,
I saved a folder "desktop", and my "documents", I thought it was a backup. but it seems that everything was saved only on drop box. I deleted these folders from my computer (thinking they were aliases), I lost all the data. How can I recover this data? There is nothing in the drop box recycle garbage can. Thanks in advance.

Hey @Antoine 26, thanks for joining our Community and happy holidays!

Have you checked your deleted files page in Dropbox for your deleted folders?

You can also check your events page to see if you can locate and restore the deletion events.

Let me know what you find.

Hello Hannah,

I checked both delete file and events, but there is no trace of the files...

is it possible that the file were saved on a "folder drop box" on my computer without beeing saved online ?

thanks for your help !

Hi @Antoine 26, it sounds like the missing files hadn't synced to your account, which is why you can't recover them from the site.

However, it might be possible to recover the files from the local machine from the recycle bin, or using a third party app or service to do so.
