Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I was moving some files into the Dropbox, to free up some space on my phone. When i finished uploading them to the Dropbox they weren’t there. How would you be able to find that missing file?
Hi @Matthew9, thanks for posting today!
Were you uploading files manually via the Dropbox mobile app to your account? Did you allow time for the files to appear in the mobile app, confirming that they were uploaded, before deleting them on the phone?
Could you doublecheck that that account on the phone and on the website are signed into the same email?
Keep me posted!

It sounds like the upload didn't complete then, if it wasn't loaded in the app.
Do you see any events here showing that the files were added to your account?

If the files never uploaded to your Dropbox account, then it wouldn't be possible to recover them using Dropbox.
Perhaps it's possible to recover the images via another (built-in) cloud service on your device if it was enabled at the same time. If not, there could be third party software to locate and recover files deleted from the phone.

If you're on an iPhone, then check your iCloud storage. If on Android, maybe they're on Google Photos.
Regarding the third party apps, I wouldn't be able to make any recommendations, so you'd need to search for apps that are compatible with your device and OS to see if they help.
