Okay this is ridiculous! Why is there no function to stop syncing or in this case backups! This is rendering dropbox useless to me and I cannot get it to stop. The external backup is deleted on dropbox. Updated the app and its still trying to sync! I do not want to sync up half a terabyte this way! Backup is great, but this is a total mess.
Will there be another update or a workaround top fix this issue???

Hi Hannah,
Dropbox was still trying to sync files after the external was deleted. It has resolved itself somehow after several restarts, ejecting the hard drive and quitting dropbox. I lost a lot of work time trying to resolve this backup error and it seems totally nuts that you can't manage a backup/sync to then pause or quit the action entirely. Its particularly a problem when you need to deliver work files to a deadline so this was critically bad timing.
