I lost all my files after deleting the dropbox folder

I lost all my files after deleting the dropbox folder

Hi! Yesterday, I was checking all my folders in my computer and I saw a dropbox folder. I look into it and I checked that there were only old folders from my last job, so I deleted it. After doing so, I lost ALL my files and folders in my computer. I looked into dropbox but there weren’t any files or history or anything. What can I do now to restore my files? If it’s even possible. Thanks! (I don’t have a secure copy or anything)

Hey @claaauu, thanks for reaching out to our Community and sorry to hear you're having trouble with this.

 

It sounds like you enabled the computer backup feature and your files were backed to Dropbox, when you deleted the Dropbox folder.

 

That would definitely cause them to get deleted. Have you checked the deleted files page in Dropbox?

 

How about your events page?

 

Make sure to also check in your computer's trash/recycle bin as well.
