I'm missing files on my old account, can you help?

Hello all. I opened a dropbox account in 2012. I rarely use it but there are some files in there I want to retrieve. I have forgotten ALL the set up details and since then, I have somehow managed to open a new account with a new email address. To my shock, none of the original files are there and because I can't recall any of my original set up details I don't know how to get them back and I seem to be digging an even greater hole trying to work it out. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

If the account is old, it's possible that the account was deactivated, meaning you wouldn't be able to access the account or files within.

Are there any files visible in the deleted files page, or the events page?
