Hey Jay, I did what you recommended and after deleting the "Elements" folder it freed up over 6GB of space in my Dropbox with no apparent damage.
I heartily thank you and greet you cordially.

Hey @Gmastri, thanks for reaching out to our Community and happy new year!

Is 'Elements' just a simple folder in your Dropbox?

To free up the space it's taking up, you can simply delete it and the space will get freed up automatically.

As for your other clouds, they won't be backed up to Dropbox, unless you move them in your Dropbox folder.

Did you enable computer backup on your Dropbox application maybe?

Keep me posted.

Thanks Hannah for answering me.
Below I will try to express myself better:
1) I don't remember having enabled my computer backup;
2) I didn't create the "Elements" folder, but it belongs to Dropbox. When I try to delete its files and the folders it contains, what I delete. even permanently, it is restored again in the same folder;
3) As for the backup of the other clouds, I think Dropbox took them directly from the Desktop, where the respective links are. In this case how can I disable this operation?
I await your kind reply and, in thanking you in advance, I greet you cordially.

Thank you for the update here!

Regarding the Elements folder, what do you see if you go to your events page?

Does it show you any info on why the files keep coming back? Perhaps someone is restoring them.

And as for computer backup, you can disable it and move your files back to their original locations, by following the steps outlined here.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to do what you suggested, after downloading the Dropbox application on the PC I saw that there was nothing in the Backup.
I didn't create the "Elemets" folder, but it's probably a Dropobox system folder. It is called "Elements.dbx-external-drive" and when I try to delete a file or folder, it appears after a few seconds a warning that says "Dropbox has restored deleted files to Elements".
What to do?
Thanks for your help and I look forward to a response.
Best regards.

Hi @Gmastri, it sounds like you're referring to an external drive backup on your account. Most likely you have a Western Digital Elements external drive connected to your machine.

To remove the external drive completely, you need to delete the entire Elements folder. It isn't possible to delete individual files from inside the folder, since they would be recovered immediately.

Hi Jay, I am not aware of an external drive connected to the Dropbox, excluding the smartphone.
I'm afraid to delete the whole "Elements" folder because I think it deletes my files and folders from my PC.
If you make sure that this does not happen then I will delete all the "Elements" folder
Thank you and greetings.

This Elements folder is visible only on the Dropbox site, as it's an external drive backup, and shouldn't be synced to your computer.

Deleting the folder will delete it from your account online, and there won't be anything to delete from your computer.
