Lost Dropbox files from university account

Lost Dropbox files from university account

My university maintained a Dropbox account and I held an extensive repository in it. When it ended this account this past summer, it migrated all files into OneDrive. However, it appears that any older folders, ones that I had not accessed in a few years, migrated without any content. Is it possible to retrieve these materials?

Hi @ejoyce, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Did you notice that these folders were empty now or back then during the migration?

Is the Dropbox account now impossible to log in to from your end?

This will help me to assist further!

Sadly, I did not notice that they were empty. I saw the folders and thought that everything was o.k.

I have no access to that account any more.

If this is the case, then it wouldn't be possible to recover the files any longer since your account was deleted, unfortunately.

The only possibility is if the account was part of a Dropbox Education team, and that your files were transferred to another user on the team, then they could still exist somewhere, so the team admin might be able to help you out with the files.
