Lost Files

I installed Dropbox. Didnt understand that it basically backed up my PC to Dropbox. Soon i exceeded 2GB and then I noticed duplicate folders. Still didnt research anything and decided to delete....Fast forward and I deleted a TON of files from my PC. Now I decided to read handy hints and found how to restore deleted files. My question is that I have some folders o my desktop, however they are empty. It appears Dropbox restored only the folders themselves, no content. I have lost so much  Any help is appreciated!

Hi there @kpw0757; thanks for joining our Community and sorry to hear about this.

I'm sorry to ask, but did you actually disable the computer backup feature using these step before attempting to do this?

Can you maybe restore any files from your deleted files page or the events page perhaps?

Keep me posted!

Hi Walter!

thank you so much for replying to my plea for help!. In deleted files I do not see anything. When I previously went there I restored the deleted file option, however that was what gave me the empty folders and incomplete restore. When I go to the event page, I can see where my sad story began on December 28th when I first downloaded Dropbox. In the events page I can see I started gradually adding files. Is there a way to restore from here? On January 6th I see the big delete. I then restored, however it is not a complete restore. I have now turned off synching and am fervently praying.

thank you for any help you can give me!

Karen
