My files are gone. How can I restore them?

Hey maybe this is a crazy idea, but how about there be a setting somewhere on the Dropbox android app where it can be set to not remove one single file off my device and certainly not multiple folders containg hundreds of files, without my explicit permission? My only device is an android phone atm. Nothing else. My mp3s are gone. And all photos going back to 2017, among other things. What would make Dropbox "think" it's time to delete the files -- at my end, off of the remote end... Android Moto G Power, -- then report it to me, ASKING IF I DID IT AND DID I REALLY WANT TO DELETE THE FILES? W.T.F. ? Seriously. W. T. Actual. F. ?

How about NO files deleted off my phone or any other device, EVER, without a 1400 character digital password is issued after first shipping a urine sample and polygraph.

I'm in the middle of trying to recover my files, if they still exist somewhere on the DB end. I still can't figure out why.....just....why would they just get vanishated off my phone like that. Which is the exact unfortunate event I was planning on avoiding by setting up dropbox.

I confess it's been a number of years since I used dropbox. But I'm sure I'd recall something about Dropbox arbitrarily and randomly deleting my files and then asking me why *I* did it. Something has changed in the last 4 or 5 years? I guess I don't understand how Dropbox works anymore. I don't think a non-sentient cloud network service like Dropbox can develop both Alzheimer's and Schizophrenia -- the combo being garnished with a smartmouth streak of vicious irony... not likely, right? So I guess I'm going batshxt crazy.
Well, back to trying figure this out. I have no idea if I'll ever see any of my files again. 💣 If anyones knows some simple thing I've missed & wants to point it out even though it'll make Forrest Gump seem like Stephen Hawking when compared to me, I'm perfectly fine with being Dumbxss of the day. Or if you just know the name of a good dimentia specialist, would love to hear from you.... Sigh. Thx.

Hey @FylesGawnThxDB, sorry to hear about your missing files.

May I ask how long has it been since you last accessed your Dropbox account and if you happen to have another account, associated with a different email address of yours?

Also, can you please take a look at your events page and let us know if you can find any sign of them? This is the place where all uploads, edits, and deletions are normally logged, so it should give you a hint.

Let us know of any updates!
