My files are gone - what happened?

My files are gone - what happened?

I had dropbox running in the background a few years ago and it did backup my files wich was convinient but was not thinking so much about it. My dropbox filled up quite fast and i recived many mails that it stopped to synch because it was full but i did not mind it so much. Two years ago i got a new phone and never setup dropbox on the new one but now when i wanted to get to my old files they were all gone. My last mail that told me my storage was full was 2020 and now when i sign in again its all gone, nothing in event log and when i check if my files been deleted in the deleted files menu there is nothing. What happen ?

Hi @Verdeloth, sorry to hear about your missing files.

Can you clarify how long has it been since you last signed into your account?

If there's no sign of your files in your deleted files page and the events page, is it  possible that you're looking at another Dropbox account?

Keep us posted!

Hi @Verdeloth, keep in mind that Dropbox might delete your account, after a long time of inactivity.

This might have been the case, or if your account was full, the content never synced to your Dropbox account.
