Need to recover data

Need to recover data

chamanks

There was a folder Y containing .tex files and a subfolder X. I wanted to switch the data contained in X with the files in Y except for the subfolder X. In the process, I chose to cut the data in Y and before pasting it outside X, I opted to move the files to subfolder X. Now the data contained in Y disappeared.  Now I am not able to recover it back. Any help would be appreciated in this regard.

Hi @chamanks, thanks for messaging today!

When you say you cut the data from Y, do you mean you deleted it completely?

You can check the deleted files page to recover the missing files if need be.

Keep me updated with any progress!

No Jay, I wanted to cut all the files from subfolder X, and paste them outside X and within Y.

I assume that pasting the files didn't work, since you didn't mention pasting them?

Were you able to locate them in the deleted files page?

Thanks for your reply, Jay.  you are right, pasting the files was not working.

But I finally got those missing files back. I created a new file in the empty subfolder and then went through the version history of this file, and could restore it from there.
