Signed into dropbox on PC and local files were overwritten

Signed into dropbox on PC and local files were overwritten

I had been making saves/changes/edits to my dropbox folders on my PC and realized they weren't syncing across devices. Turns out, I was somehow no longer signed into my account on my PC and the files were all just saving locally. When I did sign into my account, it overwrote all of those changes I had made and updated my PC to old folders from the last time I had been signed in. Is there anyway to recover the folders/files that were overwritten when I signed back in?

Hi @saramanning, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If the local Dropbox folder wasn't syncing, and the files were overwritten by the site copy of the of the files, then it wouldn't be possible to recover the files from the site, since they were never uploaded there.

However, it might be possible to recover the files from the local machine from the recycle bin, or using a third party app or service to do so.

Keep me updated with any progress.
