Smart Sync Online-only and Multiple Folder Uploads

Smart Sync Online-only and Multiple Folder Uploads

I am a Dropbox Plus customer using on Mac Big Sur. I created an online-only folder tree so that I can upload family photos and videos I'd like to share with my family. I do not want them taking up space on my computer. These files are in multiple folders on an external USB drive and on DVDs or CDs.

It seems that my only option to upload to Dropbox is to open Dropbox.com and upload the folders from my optical or SSD drive. But it will only permit me to upload one folder at a time, which is arduous and time-consuming.

An alternative would be to drag the multiple folders from my SSD drive to my online-only folder in Finder. This is much quicker and easier. However if I do that will Dropbox delete each file as soon as it has been uploaded to the Dropbox cloud? If not is there another option that will accomplish my goals?

Thanks.

Danny

Once you've moved or copied the files to the folder in Dropbox, you'll need to mark them as online-only, or you can just mark the folder as online-only again, and it will take care of all the files within it.

The only way to do it without the files first being copied to your local drive is to upload through the website.

Okay I just figured out that if I navigate to the top of my folder tree I can see the entire CD. ThenI can "upload folder" and select the top level CD from Finder. That will copy all the contents of the CD.

Thanks!
