deleting photos from my computer app

When I take a picture on my cell phone, the picture is automatically uploaded to my desktop under "camera uploads".  I then transfer the uploaded photos to a folder on my computer separate from Dropbox.  Then I want to delete the photos in "camera uploads", but Dropbox ask if I want to delete a certain photo and 53 others from the Dropbox account and all devices.  What does this mean exactly?  Are they automatically deleted from my phone, my computer and from Dropbox online?  I don't know that they were ever saved online.  Thanks.

Hi there @Piskers, welcome to the Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

The message you get is referring to the files in your Dropbox folder and means that if you delete them from there (your Dropbox folder), then they'll be also deleted from the devices you've connected to your Dropbox account and our website as well. If you have copied the files on another location on your computer, those won't be affected at all.

I hope this clears things up a tad and please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Thanks!
