Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
Using Dropbox since 2009 and now for the very first time, suddenly the Dropbox menu bar icon is greyed out (not synced a new file for a couple of days or deleted some) and I received a "Disk full" message, yet there's ample space on all my local computers.
How can I get Dropbox to work again?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Andreas Hopf, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you getting this message on all of your desktop devices?
Could you attach a screenshot showing this error, as well as one showing the available space on the drive the Dropbox folder is located on?
This will help me to assist further!

Thanks, here are the screenshots...
Sorry for jumping in, @Andreas Hopf.
Can you let me know what’s the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox desktop app?
Is there any chance that you’re uploading a large file at the moment, which could have generated this error message?

No syncing. Like I mentioned, the macOS menu icon is greyed out. And, no, I did not put a large file into Dropbox. Software version is 153.4.3932.
Have you tried reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application using this link?

Thanks, I was under the impression Dropbox updates itself automatically. I will do a manual update as you suggest.
Thanks Andreas, please make sure to reinstall the Dropbox application and let us know if it helped.

Manually re-installing helped. That was never necessary before.
Happy to see that it helped, Andreas!
