You can recover deleted files if they were deleted within the last 30 days. You can also see the last six months of activity on your Events page.
If your account has been idle for more than a year then it was likely deleted due to inactivity, and you're now signed in to a new, empty account. Unfortunately, when this happens, it's not possible to recover any files that were deleted.
