The latest version of iOS that will run on a 3rd generation iPad is iOS 9.3.5 (9.3.6 for cellular models). Dropbox requires iOS 13.1 or later. If you uninstall the Dropbox app that you have installed now, you won't be able to reinstall it again.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, my ipad 3 Air works just fine generally with the latest updates so I don't think ipad or ios versions gets at the problem.

Hey @wilczech83, can you please send us a screenshot of the prompt you're seeing that's asking you to reinstall Dropbox?

Ok, if it's a 3rd gen iPad Air then you should be able to uninstall and reinstall the Dropbox app. The 3rd gen iPad Air will support the latest iPadOS version. Previously you said iPad 3, which is a much older model and no longer supported by Apple.

Assuming that it really is a 3rd gen iPad Air (released in 2019), I'd suggest removing the Dropbox app from your iPad and then reinstalling it from the App Store. Tap and hold on the Dropbox icon and you'll see an option to remove the app. I'd remove it, reboot the iPad, then reinstall it.
