Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I quit dropbox after having signed up for the professional storage size. Apparently, dropbox had started backing up from my external hard drive. I don't need that.
The message I got from DB is at the bottom of this posting. Should I unplug my hard drive? I'm worried that it will permanently delete from my external hard drive as opposed to deleting from some odd back up on DB. Thanks for your help!!
"You recently deleted 73498 files from your Dropbox account. If you want these files back, you can still restore them until 3/25/2023. After that, they’ll be permanently deleted."
Hi @eringrey, let's jump right into this!
The first thing I'd suggest that you do, is check for these deleted files, to see where they are coming from, and if they are related to your external hard drive.
Is it safe to assume that you got an email, informing you about this deletion? If so, you should be able to click on the event given in the email, and have a look there.
Now, for the external hard drive, I'd suggest that you disable it using the steps provided in this Help Center article.
If you have any questions, I'm here for you!
