save error Trying to save and I get 'Remove "filename" from everyone's Dropbox account

I have Dropbox free.  I am trying to save a file to a folder that someone shared with me.  I have edit permission.  Every time I try to save a file after editing it, I get this message:  'Remove "filename" from everyone's Dropbox account and all devices'.  There is a check box for "Don't ask me this again' which does nothing.  Options are either Cancel or Move out of Dropbox.  When I cancel, a copy of the file is made.  So after multiple edits, I get filename (1), filename(2), filename(3) etc.

That's the message you receive when you delete a file from a shared folder. I don't know what application you're using, but best guess is that when saving a file that already exists, the application first deletes the copy that's there and then saves a new file in its place. Since the file is first being deleted, Dropbox sees that and prompts you.

Do a test. Make a copy of the file and place it somewhere outside of Dropbox. Then go edit the copy in the shared folder, save it, and when you receive the prompt again, confirm the removal. See if the application continues to save the file. If so, mystery solved. If not and the file was deleted, you have a copy saved that you can put back.
