Hello.
A rather unusual situation here. A previous web developer of mine took it upon herself to set up a drop box to the website. This was unbeknown to me and being age 74, I had no idea what she was doing with it anyway. Just recently my current developer had a need to restore a previous website version he had stored on his hosting. But he failed, due to certain elements missing. He said he noticed that there was a link to drop box and the necessary files needed were in there. He asked me for access details but I had no idea what he was talking about. I then discovered I had an old drop box myself which brings me into where I am now. But the stuff was not stored in my account. Eventually my developer was able to name the individual who's account it is/was and also identified an API token. So right now what I need is in that person account and relates to an account which I own. Basically I need to access that data which appears to be stored with a 3 rd part who has no right to it/ Sitting in their drop-box.
Hello there @johnbee123, I hope you're well today!
If you don't have access to the Dropbox account or the email used for that account, then there isn't much I could suggest here I'm afraid. The best option would be to reach out to the person who owned the account to see if they can share the data you need with them.
Out of curiosity, could you let me know if you own the email address or know the email of the account that the data is held in?
Thanks!

Sorry I will try to explain it again. Unfortunately my knowledge is limited being a 74. As I understand it from my developer someone (freelancer) who did some work on my website (which I authorised them to do) unbeknown to me, manipulated with a plug which directed items from my site into their drop box. One element they have taken (stolen) prevents my developer from restoring a back up which he had stored. This is causing me a big problem. I do have the email for the individual concerned and written to them 3 times. Thanks. John
Thanks for the info, @johnbee123. It does sound like this is an account that you wouldn't be able to gain access to, even via our support team, unfortunately.
Only the owner of that account would be able to assist on this matter to provide the files stored on their account.
