[trouble] Photos are NOT deleted automaticaly

[trouble] Photos are NOT deleted automaticaly

I am using dropbox on iPhone and PC.
When I move a photo out of the Dropbox folder on my PC, it should be deleted from my iPhone as well, but it isn't.

That's correct, there isn't a direct 'syncing' method like with the Dropbox desktop application. You have to upload, download or edit files manually.

Camera uploads are the only automatic method of uploading files via the mobile app, so it copies the photos into the mobile app to upload to the site.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Hey @takashi0, let's see what we will find together on this!

As a first step, can you let me know the desktop app's syncing status and version?

Also, is your OS and the Dropbox app on your phone up to date?

Keep me posted, and we'll see what we can do about that.

Thank you Megan.

Windows apps version is 1.36.4.4345 on Windows10

and its status is "ファイルは最新の状態です", it means "files are up to date".

iOS are up to date, and iPhone dropbox apps version is 262.3.2

Thank you for checking, @takashi0

If you move a file off of your Dropbox folder, do you see it being deleted on our website?

Can you test that and let me know?

Yes, photos are deleted in https://www.dropbox.com/home/.

They are only in iPhone.

Hi @takashi0, just to clarify, after the deletion, is the file visible in the Dropbox mobile app on your device, or the Photos app on the iPhone?

hi Jay.

Folder in Dropbox mobile app is same as website. there is no deleted photos.

There are deleted photos only in Photos app.

Deleting files from Dropbox would only delete files from Dropbox itself, meaning the website, desktop app and mobile app.

The Photos app is a separate application, so deletions on Dropbox aren't 'synced' to the iOS Photos app.

Thank you Jay.

I was misunderstanding.

I just thought that the camera-upload-folder in dropbox was sync-ed with the iPhone's photo storage folder.

Does dropbox COPY photo files from iPhone's photo folder to dropbox/camera-upload-folder, instead of SYNCing ?
