uploading to shared "hipaa" folder from a "non hipaa' account

uploading to shared "hipaa" folder from a "non hipaa' account

I have Dropbox Basic. 'Person A'  has the Dropbox Business plan with a BAA for privacy.

Person A invites me to edit a shared folder so I can upload my files for her.

I upload a file to the shared folder from my non-BAA Dropbox basic plan.

Will the uploaded file be stored in the folder with the BAA only or will it be in both, the one with BAA and the one without BAA?

Hi @SCATX, thanks for posting on the Community!

When you add files into a shared folder, it remains in the folder for any active member, including yourself.

If the Dropbox Business member wants to keep the file private, they’ll need to move the file out of the shared folder into a private one in their account.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
