Experimental Build 3.9.39

Edit: there is a newer forum build!

Hi everyone! We’ve got a new experimental build for you!

New in 3.9.39:

  • Better Windows 10 support.
  • Other small fixes.

New in the 3.9 series:

  • Improved network utilization on downloads for fast internet connections.
  • More hiding options for the Badge - now you can hide with a click for one window. To bring it back, simply reopen the file.
  • Easily move files into Dropbox with the Badge [this option appears on saving a file, and is being rolled out to a subset of users]
  • Now, for shared files, the Badge notifies you if your collaborators made changes since the last time you opened the file [this is being rolled out to a subset of users]
  • [Windows] The view comments context menu option in File Explorer now opens a dedicated comments window instead of taking you to the Dropbox website.
  • [Windows] New onboarding after signing into an account during a new install.
  • Sign into dropbox.com when you’re signed into the desktop client. (1)
  • Upgraded to Python 2.7.10.
  • Many small fixes and improvements.
  • Fix issues with inconsistent LAN sync performance.

Notes

1. When running this desktop client, if you go to   www.dropbox.com/login and you’re not signed in on the website you’ll see the option to sign into your account by clicking “Continue as <your name>".

Re: Experimental Build 3.9.39

Have tried to install 3.9 versions on Windows 10 and installation will not complete for any of them. I get error message "has been aborted".

Should have said - using off-line installer. Standard installer still points to 3.8.8.

AutoUpdated fine, and the folder names in Selective Sync are back to their correct cases.

Re: Experimental Build 3.9.39

Folders not completely syncing between laptop Dropbox client and Dropbox server. Laptop has Windows 10 with Dropbox Build 3.9.39 reporting it "up to date". I set selective sync for 2 folders and made sure all subfolders were checked. Both folders appear on Dropbox client. However, one folder has a subfolder missing. Note that all folders and subfolders sync OK between DB server and DB client (3.8.smiling face with sunglasses on Windows 7 desktop computer. How can I resolve?

John L. Yes, still a problem on laptop with Windows 10, DB build 3.9.39  but not on desktop with Windows 7 DB build 3.8.8.
