Auto-updates: In progress
for a while now, i'm bugged by a regression in the 3.x series: Dropbox keeps spamming the registry shell extensions and re-installing them on each self-update.
PLEASE, only add registry extensions when the installer is run manually or add it as a checkbox in preferences.
This was fixed sometime in 2014-2015 but has started to happen again.

and a freshly made screenshot of the same problem, for 3.16.1
for about a month now i have to dig into sysinternals autoruns and disable the registry spam after each Dropbox self-update, please stop it. :(
This is how the registry looks after i clean it:
Running Linux Mint 17.3 x64 with Cinnamon. Autoupgraded to 3.16.1. Icon shows in notification area but mouse-over doesn't work (no balloon tip), right-clicking the icon doesn't do anything therefore I can't access the preferences panel so I can't actually do anything with Dropbox. So I'm wondering what the point of Dropbox is if I can't use it properly - this issue seems to be long standing.
The icon is still unresponsive and inaccessible on Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon, widely known and reported issue for weeks since the 3.14 series - not sure why this hasn't been fixed yet.
