The icon bug still exists on Kubuntu 14.04.5. The icon is not shown until this command is executed:
dropbox stop && DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=" dropbox start
the regression from 2014 is still present
posted about it in the 3.16.1 thread and in one of the testing builds thread... Dropbox is still force-installing the registry shell extensions, spamming them on each auto-update, and by doing it raises a huge middle finger to user preferences. :(
Print-screen hotkeys are still being reserved EVEN when the sharing option is NOT enabled.
Again, the Dropbox entry gets into autoruns in Windows (both 7 and 10) - despite I have never had this setting turned on.
Can you PLEASE remove it already, as it's becoming very annoying having to check all those parts after each and every update. I thought user settings were sacred and should remain the same across updates; but then again, I suppose some are trying to imitate Microsoft and Windows 10 in this regard now... :(
(Also, some time in the past there were services and scheduled tasks added pertaining to Dropbox update. I had to "brute force" disable them. I mean, I don't have the use for those, as my Dropbox client updates whenever I run it if there's an update available.)
