Looking for some guidance: Displaying changed files in dropbox folder on a webpage

New member | Level 2

Looking to embed a Dropbox "The 10 Most Recently Changed files" display box on an INTRANET homepage. The 'widget' will simply scann the while root and subfolder structure and detect the 10 or so most recently changed files.

1) Is this best solved with CORE API?

2) Is this a BIG programming project for someone familiar with website programming?

Just looking for guidance/direction here....

1) The "Core API" was a term we used to describe Dropbox API v1, which is now retired. You should instead use Dropbox API v2, which does offer the ability to list files and folders.

Specifically, to list everything in an account, you would use the /2/files/list_folder[/continue] endpoints with path="" and recursive=true. Once all of the entries are retrieved from those, the app can apply whatever filtering or sorting desired.

2) The amount of time and effort needed for such a project would depend on a variety of different factors, but I wouldn't expect what you've described here to be a big project.
