Disable web video streaming encoding after uploading video files

Disable web video streaming encoding after uploading video files

I use Dropbox mainly for transferring video files for work. I only need it for other people to download, not to stream within Dropbox. I have to wait until Dropbox encodes the web streaming version, before the other person can download the files.

So I think we should have a way to disable the feature of having Dropbox encode the web streaming version. It will save my time and I suppose save Dropbox's resources.

Also I think all the Dropbox transcoding is what caused my share link to be banned for "High Traffic." I currently have the Advanced Business account for teams. I uploaded a large amount of video files for a partner. But the share link and the files within them got "banned" according to Dropbox support for "High Traffic." I haven't even shared the link with the partner yet. So no one had downloaded anything. I'm assuming the "High Traffic" came from Dropbox's transcoding of the video files.

...My partial workaround lately for this issue I'm having is to remove the file extension, so Dropbox won't know it's a video file. Then I'll add it back when I download it on the other side. But that's just if I need to transfer videos to myself. I don't think I can tell our clients/partners/broadcasters to add the file extensions themselves, especially since there are often multiple types of files.
