Can I create collapsable headers in Dropbox paper?

Of course you can @engage!

You can add an H1 or H2 by using the formatting toolbar or the shortcuts listed below.

  • H1: Type # and press space, then type your header
  • H2: Type ## and press space, then type your header
  • H3: Type ### and press space, then continue typing (you can also add an H3 by highlighting and bolding an entire line of text)

You can also make H1 and H2 headers more bold by highlighting and bolding them as you would with any other text.

To collapse or expand them, click on the downward arrow on the left of the header you'd like to take these actions on.

I hope this helps and please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to ask too. Thanks for using Paper!

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I was able to make headers but the arrow next to the header seems to only function to copy the link. It doesn't give me any options to collapse the information. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Did you click on the bookmark icon maybe @engage

The arrow ( to the left of the header itself) works fine for me here. I am attaching a screenshot for you to see clearly which icon(s) I was talking about. Click that arrow to collapse/expand the section's content.

I hope this helps!

It's not an option for me while editing the document. Is it only avalible while viewing the finished document?

There should be some content under the header for you to be able to collapse/expand (using the arrows shown in my screenshot) for that purpose @engage!

Does this help?

Also, do you notice the same behavior on other browsers too?

Hi yes, I've tried explorer and chrome and I still don't have that feature.

Hi Walter

I also don't see the disclosure triangle/arrow. Is this a beta feature?

Hey folks ( @engage & @lukeyo) - happy Monday!

@lukeyo: Spot on, Luke - this is indeed a feature that hasn't been rolled out to all users yet.

@engage:  It seems like I jumped the gun here - apologies for that (I just got too excited about this :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Our Paper team is currently in the process of experimenting with new features trying to build the best Paper experience for all our users and this may sometimes lead to different users having a slightly different experience on Paper.

I hope this sheds some extra light on this one and thanks for taking the time to share your interest on this feature - I'll let the team know!

I thought I was going crazy, my work account has these arrows but my personal does not.

Any idea when we can expect a full rollout? I'm dying a little inside everytime I try to collapse a section in my docs.
