Duplicating a paper document ?!

I would love to use some documents as boilerplates for certain types of projects. I do this with Trello now, but the possibilities here seem way better. But what I need is a boilerplate to do that I copy/duplicate and rename for each project I do. Keeping al the same todo's etc.

Is this possible?!

Re: Duplicating a paper document ?!

As far as I know there is no "duplicate" function at the moment. Possible Workaround:

1. Open your "Template" Document

2. Mark everything (CMD+A on Mac / CTRL+A on PC)

3. Copy the Content (CMD+C on Mac / CTRL+C on PC)

4. Create new empty Document

5. Paste Content from Template (CMD+V on Mac / CTRL + V on PC)

Not perfect, but for me it does the job for my meeting templates.

Re: Duplicating a paper document ?!

I could definitely use templates. I run a design team and we use Paper for our kickoff meetings. We have these weekly and area always replicating docs and removing content. Mainly an issue when we share with stakeholders who overwrite our tidy master template.

Re: Duplicating a paper document ?!

Google Docs takes too long to open documents, but at least it has a "Make a Copy" option in the dropdown (File) menu. Dropbox paper: Currently, a simple Master/template document for student lesson plans must be re-created for each daily folder? Hopefully there is something I'm missing. Does anybody know how to 'Make a copy"? -PG13

Re: Duplicating a paper document ?!

Hey PG13

It'll be a pleasure to help you clarify!

As @mdeuerlein mentioned, there isn’t currently a way to duplicate Paper docs or create new docs based on templates.

As a workaround, you should be able to easily copy and paste content into a new Paper doc, which can somewhat replace the template functionality or allow you to duplicate content quickly.

It would be a great feature though and I'll definitely make sure that our development team is made aware of your request! Please keep these creative ideas coming, they're truly appreciated!

Thanks,

Duplicating a paper document

Hey,

do you know if possible to duplicate a paper doc? I'ld like to use one of my doc as a template that I could easily duplicate. That would be so hopeful to be able to do that and I guess I would not be the only one interested in this, most of us use the same path on a documen tfor a meeting report for example. I did contact in th epast th ecustomer service, they advised me to copy paste the doc, which is not very convenient when you're in a meeting , especially when you use the app. Any development goign to that direction?

Thanks

Re: Duplicating a paper document

Hey Olivier

I think you're right, for now the best is to simply copy paste a doc style that you like to use.

Perhaps even make a document specifically for the purpose, name it something like 'meeting report', then star it so it shows up in the app on the 'Starred' tab, then copy paste from there...

Not the most convenient, but I think they're listening to feature requests.

Best
