make comments invisible to clients and only visible to my team

I've been working for years with video feedback tools like replay, I've tried all the major brands out there.

One feature I find indispensable and upon which I base my preference of platform, is the availability to add hidden comments.

Allow me to explain: I send a video for review at my client. They post about 10 comments. My editor, animator, colorist & sound designer also see the client comments, but I want the option to write an internal hidden discussion with my team about the clients comment. For example, client says "I don't like the shape and color of this logo animation, please adjust to our corporate style". At that time I want to have a hidden discussion on the same version of the video with my team, without bothering or involving my client.

Did you already think about this feature? Will that be possible? If so, Replay might become my preferred video feedback tool. Thanks!

While not a fan of the product, I would cite Basecamp as a good reference point for this functionality (I agree!)  There you can for each project specify one of two sets of permissions for users on an account: who is on the team side and who is on the client side (technically three if you count the admin identifying the roles)... This would be a great all-around dropbox feature for across tools.

I imagine for dropbox business these types of comments permissions could be easily implemented since there are user teams as a part of that product. I am not a business user so maybe this exists and it just needs to be pushed to replay?

Indeed the comparison to Basecamp is correct, where you can choose who sees which comment....

Indeed if it's a feature in dropbox business, it would be nice to see it featured in replay

@imthatoneguyalso requested this via a separate request: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-Replay/Private-internal-comments/idc-p/569051#M56

Add your thumbs up here! I also cross referenced this so Walter would see that there is support for this functionality.

In general more control of the comments would be useful - - sometimes as a team we have comments that we might not want to share with the clients - but don't want to keep a separate list elsewhere.  - I also (and have suggested it) would like to see the comments follow the new versions - so a client can review and see that their comments were addressed (this might require removing the Time code attachment because a file length might change - but even a tab of old comments would be useful.
